Nikky - Co-Owner / Aesthetician
I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It's been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.

I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!

Sean - Co-Owner / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Injector

I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing! It’s a wonderful feeling to be a business owner, but an even better feeling because I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do-Medical Aesthetics.

Botox in Kansas City - How To Find A Professional Company

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are called "mid-level” providers. This means that they can do many of the same things that a doctor can do provided they are properly trained and experienced. Best Medspa Kansas City. They can see new patients, make diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and even prescribe medication. Most states do not require the doctor overseeing the NP or PA to be on site, although there are often distance and documentation requirements .

But don’t be shy! Ask about the NP’s experience, ask about his or her overseeing doctor, and ask to see all supporting documentation if you have questions. All of this should be readily available and, if it’s not, that’s a red flag you need to take into consideration. It depends on your state, but as a general rule, yes, that’s perfectly fine.

And don’t simply take their word for it—ask for their license number (all nurses are registered with the state), ask to speak to their supervising physician, and ask for references. These should be readily available. Typically, yes, but you should definitely do some research to make sure the event is safe and compliant.

Remember, you should see a doctor, NP, or PA first, before you are treated.

What are HA fillers, exactly?

Juvederm, Restylane and other hyaluronic acids fillers are suspended in a gel carrier. This gel allows the hyaluronic acids to stay in place when injected. The hyaluronic Acid immediately draws in water to increase the volume of the area where it is injected. This is great for moderate to deeper wrinkles and folds of the face or areas where more volume is desired like cheeks or lips. These fillers dissolve naturally and can last up to one year, with some lasting even longer.

There are many options for HA Fillers. To deliver dramatic enhancements, we use Restylane as well as Juvederm. You have more options and can get customized results.

What are Neurotoxins and how can they be avoided?

Botox and Dysport are injectable neurotoxins that can temporarily help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Repeated muscle contractions can result in facial lines and wrinkles becoming deeper and more severe over time. Botox and Dysport will weaken these muscle contractions temporarily leaving the skin visibly smoother.

Common areas of treatment include forehead, frown lines, crows' feet, and the chin. You can see results in as little as two days. However, they will gradually improve over two weeks. If the dose is correct, results can last up to four weeks.

Sculptra uses poly-L lactic acids to slowly restore facial volume. It is injected into the skin to stimulate your natural ability to create collagen over time. The areas that may be treated include the temples, cheeks or nasolabialfolds as well as the jawline. Some people require three treatments initially, then one each year. Results can last more than two years!

What is Kybella, exactly?

Kybella is an injectable treatment approved to permanently destroy fat cells. Depending upon the amount of fat present, up to five vials (or more) of Kybella might be required during one treatment session. Sometimes multiple sessions are necessary. The most common area to be treated is the submental, also known by the 'double-chin'. Treatments can stop once a desired aesthetic goal has been reached.

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial addresses all skin care needs with patented technology that cleans, extracts, and hydrates the skin.

HydraFacial super serums contain nourishing ingredients that give you a radiant glow in just a few minutes.

The first step involves gently exfoliating the skin and cleansing it. The skin is then treated with a mild chemical peel to improve its surface and prepare for painless removals. The skin is then cleaned using painless suction. To increase the skin's glow, antioxidants are instilled into the skin. The best part? There's no downtime!

What is Dermaplane?

Dermaplaning removes the top layer of dead skin, hair, and debris using a medical-grade surgical knife. One session of dermaplaning can remove approximately 2-3 weeks worth of dead skin cells and other debris. Dermplane is painless and non-invasive. Although it may look like shaving, dermplane is more efficient because the blade can reach the top layer of the skin. The hair will not grow back darker - dermaplaning targets vellus hairs (peach fuzz), which are the same size as the original. In addition, the way the surgical blade cuts the hair does not create the illusion of thicker hair. There is no downtime.

What is Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers of the dermis. Chemical peels can help improve the skin's texture as well as radiance. Chemical peels can be performed in three strengths: deep, medium, or superficial. Improvement in the skin varies depending on your concerns and which peel is selected to address your needs. For most, multiple treatments are recommended to achieve the best results.

What is an Insta-Glo Facial?

Insta-Glo Facials leave you radiant for days! It combines a HydroJelly masque with a custom ampoule to address your skin's needs.

The skin must be cleansed and exfoliated first. The ampoule is then applied and infused into the skin with our Nano Infusion Pen. After that, HydroJelly is applied. After that, the HydroJelly masque is applied. Finally, you can apply the products to your skin. This treatment requires very little or no downtime.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling causes microscopic skin injuries and stimulates the body’s natural wound healing process. It also minimizes cellular damage.

It may be possible to recommend a series up to six treatments depending on the results. This procedure is very quick and requires little downtime.

Lashes & Brows

Let's not forget our eyebrows and lashes. We all know that lashes are important in our overall aesthetics. Our brows and lashes are just as important as our hair. The illusion of a fuller brow or lash tint can make them appear longer and fuller by coloring the hair follicles, from tip to base.

Take it up a notch with a lash lift. You can achieve a semi-permanent curl that lasts up to 6 weeks. Don't use mascara or curler on your lashes. Instead, save your time by using a lash/brow pigment and/or lash lifting.

Do you have a busy schedule and don't want to spend time on lash tints or extensions? Latisse is an alternative. You can get your lashes darker and thicker in as little 8 weeks with this at-home treatment.

What is Medical Grade?

What is medical grade skincare you might ask? Well to start, these skincare products generally have higher active ingredient concentrations than anything you might find over the counter. That means quicker results in less time. Medical-grade skincare products can penetrate the skin deeper than other products, which is a big advantage over cheaper, more superficial products. Even though some products are more expensive than the ones you might find at the store, you still know that you are purchasing high-quality products that have been clinically evaluated to produce optimal results.

That sounds amazing, right? We believe so. We offer three of our favourite products from medical-grade skincare brands, SkinCeuticals (and SkinMedica)
