Nikky - Co-Owner / Aesthetician
I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It's been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.

I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!

Sean - Co-Owner / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Injector

I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing! It’s a wonderful feeling to be a business owner, but an even better feeling because I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do-Medical Aesthetics.

Facial (Insta-glow facial) in Kansas City - How To Find A Professional Company

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are called "mid-level” providers. This means that they can do many of the same things that a doctor can do provided they are properly trained and experienced. Best Medspa Kansas City. They can see new patients, make diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and even prescribe medication. Most states do not require the doctor overseeing the NP or PA to be on site, although there are often distance and documentation requirements .

But don’t be shy! Ask about the NP’s experience, ask about his or her overseeing doctor, and ask to see all supporting documentation if you have questions. All of this should be readily available and, if it’s not, that’s a red flag you need to take into consideration. It depends on your state, but as a general rule, yes, that’s perfectly fine.

And don’t simply take their word for it—ask for their license number (all nurses are registered with the state), ask to speak to their supervising physician, and ask for references. These should be readily available. Typically, yes, but you should definitely do some research to make sure the event is safe and compliant.

Remember, you should see a doctor, NP, or PA first, before you are treated.

What is sculpture?

Sculptra, a biostimulatory injectable made of poly-L–lactic acid, helps gradually restore facial volume. It stimulates the natural production of collagen in your skin by slowly injecting it. Over time, the poly-L lactic acid is biodegraded to create a new meshwork of collagen. The treatment areas include the jawline, cheeks and nasolabial folds. Most initially will require three treatments over a couple of months and then just one treatment annually. Results can last more than two years!

What is Kybella exactly?

Kybella, an injectable treatment approved for permanently eliminating fat cells, is available. Depending upon the amount of fat present, up to five vials (or more) of Kybella might be required during one treatment session. Sometimes multiple sessions are necessary. Submental fat, also known as the 'double chin', is the most common area for treatment. Once a desired aesthetic goal is achieved, treatments can be stopped.

is an essential vitamin your body needs in order to function properly. This injection may help with increasing energy levels, improving fatigue, speeding up metabolism, improving sleep patterns, increasing concentration, improving mood, and boosting the immune system to name a few.

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a revolutionary treatment that addresses all your skincare needs.

HydraFacial's super serums have nourishing ingredients that instantly give you a glowing complexion in just a few seconds.

The first step involves gently exfoliating the skin and cleansing it. To resurface and prepare the skin for painless extractions, a light chemical treatment is used. Next, debris is extracted from the pores with painless suction. Finally, the skin is moisturized. The skin is then infused with antioxidants and peptides to enhance its glow. It is quick and easy!

What is Dermaplane exactly?

Dermaplaning uses a surgical-grade blade that is medical-grade to remove the skin's surface layer of dead cells, debris, and hair. A single session of dermaplaning is capable of removing approximately 2-3 weeks' worth of skin cells and debris. Dermplane is completely painless and non-invasive. Although it may look like shaving, dermplane is more efficient because the blade can reach the top layer of the skin. You don't have to worry about your hair getting darker. Dermaplaning targets the peach fuzz (vellus hair) which grows back in the same size and color. It doesn't give the illusion that the hair is thicker because of the way it is cut. This procedure is painless and requires no downtime.

What is Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers of the dermis. Chemical peels will help to improve the skin's texture and radiance, even out the skin tone, diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, help acne-prone skin, and decongest pores. Chemical peels are available in three strengths: superficial, medium and deep. Your concerns and the type of peel you select will determine how much improvement your skin receives. For most, multiple treatments are recommended to achieve the best results.

What is Clear + Brilliant Laser?

Clear + Brilliant Laser is based on advanced technology, but getting Clear + Brilliant treatments is simple. Clear + Brilliant starts with a consultation. This allows you to discuss your concerns and determine whether Clear + Brilliant is right to treat them. The practitioner will recommend a Clear + brilliant Laser treatment program. There are two handpieces you can choose from, one to address issues with skin texture like fine lines/wrinkles as well as poor size and brown spots.

What is an Insta-Glo Facial?

You will be glowing for days with our signature Insta-Glo Facial! This facial combines a HydroJelly masque along with a customized ampoule that is tailored to your skin.

First, clean and exfoliate your skin. Then the ampoule is applied and is infused into the skin using our Nano Infusion Pen. After the ampoule is applied, HydroJelly masque will be applied. The appropriate products are then applied to your skin. You are now ready to go! The downtime is minimal.

What is Microneedling exactly?

Microneedling can cause microscopic wounds to the skin. The body's natural wound healing process is stimulated by microneedling. Cellular damage is minimized.

Depending on your results a series of 3 to 6 treatments may be recommended. This procedure involves minimal downtime.

Lashes & Brows

Don't forget your brows, lashes, and brows. We all know that lashes are important in our overall aesthetics. You color your hair on your head, so why not your lashes and eyebrows? You can create the illusion of longer lashes and brows by tinting the hair follicles.

The lash lift will take your lashes to the next level. You can achieve a semi-permanent curl that lasts up to 6 weeks. So, ditch the mascara and lash curler and save yourself some time getting ready with a lash/brow tint and/or lash lift.

You don't have the time to do lash extensions or lash tints? Latisse is a great alternative! You can grow your lashes thicker, longer and darker with this daily home treatment in just 8 weeks.

What is Medical-Grade skincare?

What is medical grade skincare you might ask? These skincare products have higher active ingredients than what you would find in the store. That means quicker results in less time. Furthermore, over-the counter skincare products tend to be more superficial and can penetrate deeper into your skin with medical-grade skincare products. Although some products might be more expensive than those you can buy over-the-counter, you will know that you are getting top-quality products with clinically proven results.

This sounds fantastic, right?! We believe so. This is why we carry three top-rated medical-grade brands of skincare: SkinCeuticals, Alastin, and SkinMedica.
